accompanying the message of the Mayor of Newark from
D Hickey
On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the Council of the Corporation of
Kingston gratefully appreciate the thoughtful courtesy of Dr
Hickey an old Kingstonian in presenting a copy of the
message of His Worship The Mayor of Newark and that
the City Clerk be requested to transmit to Dr Hickey this
intimation of thanks.

Ordered, That the Ontario Hall be granted free of
charge for two days for examination purposes in connection
with High Common and Separate Schools.

the Committee on back taxes to report.
Ald Harty brought up the petition of Thomas F Taylor
and others praying for a remission of taxes on sailing
vessels &c
On motion of Ald Harty seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered, That the petition of Thomas F Taylor and
others be referred to the Court of Revision to report.
Ald Carson brought up the petition of RV Rogers
praying for a grant for clothing for one Coleman now in
the institution for the blind in Brantford.
On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the petition of RV Rogers be referred
to the Committee on Finance and Accounts to report

Ald Carson brought up the petition of RM Rose
respecting taxes & back taxes.
On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, That the petition of RM Rose be referred to
the Committee on Back Taxes to report except that portion of
the petition referring to taxes for 1879, which is referred to
the Court of Revision.
