On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the petition of John Duff be
referred to the Committee on back taxes to report

Ald Gaskin brought up the petition of Thomas
F Taylor respecting back taxes.

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered, That the petition of Thomas F
Taylor in reference to back taxes be referred to the
Committee on salaries and back taxes to report

Ald Carson brought up the petition of Benjamin
Thorn respecting back taxes.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, That the petition of Benjamin Thorn
be referred to the Committee on back taxes to report.

Ald Allen brought up the petition of Johnston
Orr respecting taxes.

Ald Carson brought up the petitions of Thomas
W McCrea and others respecting taxes

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Anglin
Ordered, That the petition of Johnston Orr
and others in respect of taxes be referred to the Court of Revision

Ald Pense introduced a By Law entitled
as follows: "A By Law to appoint Deputy Returning
Officers and Polling places for the next ensuing
elections for the City of Kingston"

"A By Law to fix the place in each Ward in the
City of Kingston where the nomination of candidates
for the office of Alderman shall take place" which
were read a first time.

The 29th Rule was suspended for the evening as
to the readings of these By Laws

The Council resumed
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported
the second reading of the By Laws in Committee of the
Whole.

The Report was received. The By Laws were
read a third time and passed.

Ald Drennan from the Committee On Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 740 Book D No 2) which
was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water and
Gas brought up a Report (Number 741 Book D No 2) which
was read
