On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered, That five hundred copies of the
By Law on frontage just passed be printed for
distribution.

Communications from John Kerr and John Lauder
relative to back taxes were read and referred to the Committee
on back taxes.

Ald Carson brought up the petitions of Patrick Lennon
and John Taylor and Douglass respecting back taxes.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That the petitions of P Lennon and John
Taylor and others be referred to the Committee on back taxes
to report.

Sundry petitions respecting the taxes of 1879 are
presented.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Redden
Ordered, That the petitions presented regarding
taxes of 1879 be referred to the Court of Revision

On motion of Ald Harty seconded by Ald Irving
Ordered, That the Committee on back taxes be
empowered to withdraw or postpone the sale of any lots advertised
for sale for Monday 1st December asking under the advise of
the City Solicitor and as the Committee may deem expedient.

Ald Pense brought up the petition of Robert Forsyth
and 8 others praying that no action be taken on their former
petition for the opening up of Picard street.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That the petition of Mr Robert Forsyth and
others be referred to the Committee on Streets and Improvements
to report.

A communication from the Directors of the House of
Industry was read requesting that a sufficient amount of
broken stones be taken off their hands by the City to enable
them to build a shed which will cost say Seventy five dollars.

On motion of Ald Harty seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the communication of the Directors of the
House of Industry be referred to the Committee on Finance to
report.

Ald Fee, Chairman of Committee on the Market
presented notices from William David and James Nesbitt
in reference to the waggons being allowed to stand on Brock
street &c. There was no action taken thereon.

Ald McDermott brought up the petition of Charles F Gray
asking the privilege of finishing the numbering of the houses
in the City.

On motion of Ald McDermott seconded by Ald Irving
Ordered, that the petitions of Charles F Gray be referred
to the Committee on Streets and Improvements to report.
