Ordered, That the petition of Alexander Stewart be referred
to the Committee of Licenses to report.

Ald McGuire brought up the petition of Thomas Graham and
18 others praying for Coal Oil Lamp on Centre street Frontenac Ward

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, That the petition of Thomas Graham and others
as to lamp on Centre street be referred to the Committee on Fire,
Water and Gas to report.

Ald Gaskin brought up the petition of James Richardson
and 23 others praying for a drain in Alfred street.

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Mooers
Ordered, That the petition of James Richardson and
others in reference to drain on Alfred streeet be referred to the
Committee on Streets to report

Ald Pense from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a Report (Number 734 Book D No 2) which was
read and adopted.

brought up a Report (Number 735 Book D No 2) which was read

That the report of the Committee on back taxes be
adopted.

Ald Gaskin moves seconded by Ald Mooers
That the first clause of report of Committee
on back taxes be struck off which refers to taxes by Mr McDonald
for the years 1855, 1856.

In amendment 2nd
Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald McCammon
That the Report of the Committee on back taxes
be amended by placing the case of Mr Mills on the same
ground as Mr Shannon and ten per cent simple interest
be accepted in his case. The Mayor declared this motion out
of order. The first amendment then being put was lost.
