the late Collector William P Minnes a sum of money
paid by him for costs in a case of taxes Anglin vs
the City amounting to about the sum of $13.00 or
amount and account to left to Committee on Finance
with power to act.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas brought up a Report (Number 732 Book D No 2)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report (Number 733 Book D No 2) enclosing
Report of Messrs Power & Son Architects In Re heating new
City Registrar Office which was read, which was read
and adopted.

On motion of Ald Harty seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered, That the City Solicitor be instructed
to communicate with Ald Drennan at Ottawa in relation
to information required from the Government about the
property lately sold to Messrs Richardson and Mooers
and that Ald Drennan be requested to obtain the
information which the CIty SOlicitor requires regarding the
same.

Ald Pense moves seconded by Ald Redden
That the Mayor, Aldermen McKelvey, Harty,
McIntyre, Snook and the mover be a special committee to
meet a similar Committee from the County Council if
appointed in respect of tolls which being put was lost

The Council went into Committee of the Whole on
the second reading of the By Law to appoint two Collectors
for the Municipality of the City of Kingston and for other
purposes.

The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading clause by clause as amended. The Report was
received.

Teh 29th Rule was suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.

Ald Harty introduced a By Law to appoint a
Special Collector to complete the collection of the rates and taxes
for the years 1874, 1875, 1876, 1877 and 1878 which was read
a first time.

The 29th Rulle was suspended for the evening and
the Council went into Committee of the Whole on the second
reading.

The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause as amended.
