A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston
was held this day pursuant to adjournment. Present

His Worship The Mayor
Aldermen
Carson, Fee, Gaskin, Harty, Irving, Mooers, McCammon,
McGuire, McIntyre, McKelvey, McRossie, Pense, Redden,
Snook, Wilson

A Communication from Britton and Whiting on behalf of
Robert Barry was read in reference to the overflow of water
in his cellar.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered That the Communication of Britton and Whiting be
referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

A communication from John Fraser was read respecting
taxes.

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the Communication of John Fraser be referred to
the Court of Revision

A communication from Chief Horsey was read stating that he
required twenty six Rubber Coats for Fire Department

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered, That the Communication of Chief Horsey be referred to
the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas to report.

A communication from Policeman Hindes was read in reference
to the fence around Victoria Park

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, That the communication of Policeman Hindes be referred to
the Committee on the Park to report.

Ald Carson brought up the petition of Wm Snowden respecting
taxes.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, That the petition of Wm Snowden be referred to the
Court of Revision.

Ald McKelvey brought up the petition of SR Tomkins to sell
fresh meat under the provisions of the By Law.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Mooers
Ordered, That the petition of SR Tomkins be granted.

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Finance and Accounts
brought up a report (Number 719 Book D Number 2) which was
read and adopted.

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald McCammon
That this Council authorise the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas
to enter into an agareement with the City Gas Company to pay them
thirteen dollars per annum for lighting, cleaning and keeping in repair
the Gas lamps belonging to the City said agreement to date from
the first day of September 1879
