On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald McGuire
Ordered, That the communication of Kirkpatrick
and Rogers just read be referred to the Committee
on back taxes to report.

A communication from Isaac Simpson Esquire
Hon: Secy & Treasr House of Industry was read relative
to Pound.

Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Drennan
That the communication from the House of
Industry be referred to the Market Committee to report

In amendment
Ald McRossie moves seconded by Ald McIntyre
That the communication of Mr Simpson, Hon Secy
and Treasurer of the House of Industry in Re Pound be
referred to the Committee on City Property to report
which being put was carried and the original motion
was lost

Ald McKelvey brought up the petition of the
Midland Control Fair ASsociation praying the City to
grant them $400 to assist in defraying the expenses
of putting the Exhibition buildings in a thorough state
of repair.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Drennan
Ordered, that the sum of $200 out of the amount
provided in the Budget for Contingencies be granted to the
Directors of the Midland Control Fair Association of the
County of Frontenac for the purpose of assisting them to
repair the Crystal Palace building.

A communication from JE Clark was read asking
for the usual amount of grant of $200 to be made towards
the support of the Hospital.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the communication of JE Clark Secy
of the Kingston General Hospital be referred to the Finance
Committee to report.

A communication from James Agnew Esquire, City
Solicitor was read In Re Writs issued - Stratford vs
Kingston and Fee vs Kingston.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the communication of the City Solicitor
be referred to the Finance Committee to report.

A communication from McLean Charlton & Co was read
asking permission to erect a steam engine and boiler in
Mrs Fraser Buildings - there was no action taken thereon.

A communication from Mr Marshall Fair was read
enquiring what action has been taken relative to better
Market accommodation.
