A communication from B. M. Britton Esquire was
read respecting back taxes on lot 22 Division street

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald McGuire

Ordered that the communication of B. M. Britton
respecting back taxes be referred to the Committee on
back taxes

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire
City Solicitor was read in Re Kingston vs London
Assurance Company stating that judgment has been
given for the Plantiff &c

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire
City Solictor was read in Re Cataraqui Cemetery

A Circular from the Deputy Ministy of Education
was read giving apportionment of the schools as
follows: Public schools $1370, R. C. Separate Schools $615

A Communication from F. W. Stockwell was read
on the subject of creating a stone arch or tower on
the Corner of King and Clarence streets for the purpose
of Commemorating the visit of His Excellency the
Governor General and Her Royal Highness the Princess
Louise. there was action taken therein

A Communication from T. L. Snook Esquire
Barrister and attorney for L. H. Fee was read claiming
damages from the City for loss of Horse and Buggy.

On motion of Ald McKelvey, seconded by Ald Gaskin

Ordered that the Communication of T. L. Snook
Solicitor for Dr. Fee be referred to the Committee on Streets
to take evidence and report to this Council

Requisitions from the City Clerk, Clerk of the
Police Court and the City Treasurer were read for
sundry articles required in their several departments

Ordered that they be referred to the Mayor
as well as other requisitions read in Council

A Communication from John Harthers was
read respecting Pound - there was action taken
therein

A Communication from L. L. Phippen Secretary
Board of Public School Trustees was read enclosing a
copy of the budget or Estimate of the expenses of the
Board for 1879.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Harty

Ordered that the Communication of L. L.
Phippen be referred to the Committee on Schools to
report

A Communication from Patrick Fallen was read
offering to spread rubbish &c on Lot north end of Ontario
street for the sum of Twenty dollar per annum

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McCammon

Ordered that an allowance of $20 per year be
made
