Messrs John Harkers and Samuel Shaw of Earl street be
appointed Pound keepers. Mr Shaw to receive a renumeration of
two dollars per month during the summer months as rent for
Pound lot.

Ald McCammon introduced a By Law to establish Pounds
in the City of Kingston which was read a first time.

A communication from James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor
was read In Re Jurisdiction of Corporation over the Police Force.

A communicaiton from Robert Curran was read respecting
taxes.

On motion of Ald McKelvey seconded by Ald Mooers
Ordered, That the communication of Robert Curran
be referred to the Court of Revision to report.

The By Law to grant licenses for the sale of fresh meat in less
quantities than by the quarter carcase and to impose a license
fee therefor and for other purposes was read a third time and
passed.

Ald McCammon introduced a By Law to raise by
special rate a sum necessary for watering Princess street
between Ontario and Barrie streets which was read a first time.

The 29th rule was suspended and the Council went into
Committee of the whole on the second reading.

The Committee rose and reported progress and asked leave
to sit again. The report was received.

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered, That the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas advertise for tenders for the watering of
street.

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Finance
and Accounts brought up a Report (Number 697
Book D Number 2) which was read and adopted

Ald McCammon brought up the petition of Isaac
David praying for a drain in Ann Street Frontenac
Ward.

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the petition of Isaac David be
referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

Ald McKelvey gives notice that he will at
a future meeting of this Council introduce a
resolution that in the opinion of this Council it
would facilitate the collection of back taxes now in
the Treasurers hands other than the taxes on non-resistant
lands of a By Law was passed ordering
that the amount of principal due with seven percent
simple interest in full payment of all such taxes
so long past due.
