brought up a report No 695 Book D No 2 which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on the Market
brought up a report No 696 Book D No 2 which was read.

Ald McRossie moves seconded by Ald Harty
That the clause in the report of the Market Committee in
reference to the Fish Market be struck out until such time as a suitable
fish market is furnished by this Council
Which being put was carried

The Report was adopted as amended

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report No 696 Book D No 2 which was read.

Ald Drennan moves seconded by Ald Pense
That the Report of the Committee on City Property
be adopted.

In amendment 1st
Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Gaskin
That tenders be invited for the entire property now in use by the
Fire Department with a view to the erection of similar premises in a more
suitable locality.

In amendment 2nd
Ald McRossie moves seconded by Ald Gaskin
That the portion of Corporation property now recommended to be
sold to Mr Forsyth at private sale be put up to be sold at Public
auction
Which being put was lost

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered that the City Solicitor be requested to deliver his
opinion as to whether this Corporation has any jurisdiction over the Police
Force and to what extent in view of the recent assessment of the City
the population does not exceed 15,000.

On motion the Council adjourned.
