On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald McKelvey
Ordered that His Worship the Mayor and the
Members of this Council be a Committee for the reception
of the Governor General and Her Royal Highness the
Princess Louise and that His Worship the Mayor,
Aldermen McKelvey, McIntyre, Pense, Carson, Harty,
and the mover be a sub Committee to prepare a Programme
and mode of reception, that may be most pleasing to
His Excellency and report to this Council also the names
of Citizens to be added to said reception Committee.

Ald Allen brought up the petition of O McMichael
and 37 others Farmers praying they may be protected
from annoyance from Cattle on the Hay market &c

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Drennan
Ordered that the petition of O McMichael and
37 others be referred to the Committee on the market to
report

Ald McCammon brought up the petition of John
O'Brien and 16 others praying for the erection of a
Coal Oil Lamp on Montreal street a John Street

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered that the petition of John O'Brien and
others in reference to the erection of a Coal Oil Lamp on
John Street be referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and
Gas to report

Ald Harty from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 685 Book D No 2)
which was read and adopted

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property
brought up a Report (Numbaer 686 Book D No 2) which
was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas brought up a Report (Number 687 Book D No 2) which
was read.

Ald McCammon moves seconded by Ald McDermott
that the report of the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas be received and adopted with the exception of
the first clause

In Amendment
Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Allen
That the words in the third clause after the
third line be struck out of the report now before the Council
which being put was carried and the original motion
being put was carried as amended

The Chairman from the Committee on officers &c
Salaries and back taxes brought up a Report
Number
