Ordered that out of respect to the Memory of the late
Treasurer the Council stand adjourned until Wednesday
evening next the 9th instant.

of Kingston was held this day pursuant to adjournment

A communication from Edwin Horsey Chief
Fire Department Kingston was read asking for three
months salary due the members of the Fire Department
on the 1st instants

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered that the Communication of Chief Horsey
be referred to the Finance Committee with power to act

A Communication from G S Hobart and G B Meadows
was read praying for a remission of the rent of the City
Hall on the occasion of the Charity Concert.

Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Allen
That the sum of seven dollars be granted
the poor relief association in lieu of the rent of the City Hall
The Mayor declared this resolution out of order

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Redden
Ordered that the petition be referred to the
Committee on Finance to report

A Communication from Major Lewiston Governor
Generals Secretary was read stating His Excellency
accompanied by Her Royal Highness proposes to visit Kingston
for the purpose of laying the foundation stone of the Queens
College University on the 30th of May next
