A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Anglin, Asselstine, Carson, Drennan, Fee
Gaskin, Metcalfe, Mooers, McCammon, McRossie
Pense, Wilson, Woods

The Clerk read the minutes of the three last meetings

A Communication from William Martin was read
enclosing account charges for theatrical Exhibitions
and requesting the Councils Consideration thereon

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered that the Communication of William
Martin be referred to the Committee on License &c to report

Two Communications from A Le Richeux were read
on the subject of heating the Registry Office

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered that the Communication of Mr Le Richeux
be referred to the Committee on City Property to report

A Communication from Joseph E Clark, Secretary
Kingston General Hospital was read requesting the usual
grant from the City for the Hospital for the year 1878.

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered that the Commincation of Mr J E Clark
be referred in reference to Grant to the General Hospital be
referred to the Committe on Finance with power to act

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire City
Solicitor was read in Re W R Mengayis Communication
Taxes

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered that the Communication of the City Solicitor
in reference to Taxes of Government offices be referred to the
Committee on Finance to report

A Communication from F B Miles & Co was read asking
for information respecting City maps. There was no action
taken theron

A Communication from Francis Ellington, County Clerk
was read on the subject of the Court House Roof

A Circular from the City Clerk Toronto was read
asking if the Council will Consent to become responsible for the
maintenance of the Toronto General Hospital of such how
persons residents of Kingston as may apply for admission

On Motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered that the Circular of the City Clerk of Toronto
answered as follows:-

1st that naturally being placed in the position
geographically that the City of Kingston is, there are
more
