Ordered, that the Comunication of the City
Solicitor in regard to repairs to on the Court House
the Solicitor to give the proper parties legal notice in
the Matter referred to.

A Communication from James Agnew City Solicitor
was read enclosing proposed Ammendments to Municipal
Acts.

On Motion of Ald. Carson seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, that the Communication of the City
Solicitor on exemptions from taxation be referred to the
Select Committee for that purpose.

A Communication from William Coverdale, City
Engineer was read in Re Mr M Doran filling in Bay
in front of property recently purchased by him
on King Street West and stating it will be necessary
that an outlet should be preserved for the dischanrge
of water from Culvert &c

On Motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, that the Communication of William
Coverdale be referred to the Committee on Streets
and improvements to report.

A Circular from the Honorable Willliam Collins
Lord Provost of Glasgow Scotland was read in Re
"City of Glasgow Bank Relief Fund"

On Motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, that the Circular of the Lord Provost
of the City of Glasgow be referred to the Finance Committee
with power to act.

Ald Allen brought up the petition of James
Nesbitt and 19 others praying for a Lamp on the
Corner of Alma and Ordnance streets.

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Clements
Ordered, that the petition of James Nesbitt and
others be referred to the Committee on Fire, water and Gas
to report.

Sundry Petitions respecting taxes were submitted by
Aldermen

On Motion of Ald. Dupuis seconded by Ald. Drennan
Ordered, that the petition of John Devanor with
reference to the remission of taxes on his shops on the
S.E. corner of Princess and King streets be referred to
the Court of Revision with power to act.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Metcalfe
Ordered, that the petitions of Mrs Catherine
Hanlon and Mr William Routley be referred to the Court
of Revision.

The other petitions respecting taxes were also referred
to the Court of Revision.

Ald Clements brought up the petition of Alexander
McKillop
