Ald Allen moves seconded by Ald: Metcalfe
That the matters in difference between Ald Carson
and Ald Fee be referred to a Committee comprised of Ald
Gildersleeve, Thompson, Pense, Wilson and Mooers to report which
being put on was carried and the original motion was lost.

Ald Anglin entered.

Ald Metcalfe brought up the petition of William Reeves
respecting taxes.

On motion of Ald Metcalfe seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, That the petition of W Reeves be referred to
the Court of Revision.

Ald Clements from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 638 Book D No 2)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire Water
and Gas brought up a Report (Number 639 Book D No. 2)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses brought
up a Report (Number 640 Book D No 2) which was read
and adopted.

Ald Dupuis moves seconded by Ald Metcalfe
That Stalleraffe Smith be employed at the sum of
one dollar per day to number and estimate the amount of
names on the principal streets and to report the same
by the next meeting of the Council - which being put
was lost.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets
and Improvements brought up a Report (Number
641 Book D No 2) which was read and received.

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on
Streets be adopted with the understanding that only such
streets or parts of streets shall be named as shall be
recommended by the Committee on Streets.

Ald Mooers here entered.

Ald Gaskin introduced a By Law respecting public
works, contracts, purchasess, labour and supplies which was
read a first time.

Ordered, That the 29 Rule be suspended and that the
Council go into Committee of the whole on the second reading.
The Council went into Committee of the whole.

The Council resumed - the Committee rose, reported progress
and asked leave to sit again. The Report was received.

Ald Gaskin introduced A By Law to amend the By Law
entitled "A By [Law] to regulate the Public Markets of the City of Kingston
which was read a first time.

The 29 Rule was suspended and the Council went
into Committee of the whole on the second reading.
