A Communication from John Ashley was read
requesting that he be awarded Compensation for his
services in taking care of New Registry Office

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Wilson
Ordered, That the Communication of John
Ashley be referred to the Committee on Finance to report

A communication from James Agnew Esquire in re
Moyle was read stating that judgment was given
for the defendants.

A Circular from JE Lemieux was read offering
reports of the debates of the House of Commons for $7.00

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the letter regarding Official report
of House of Commons be referred to the Finance
Committee also the letter of Woodward, Grant & Co be
referred to the Finance Committee.

A statement of the Appointment of the Legeslative
Public School Grant for 1878 was submitted _
City of Kingston Public Schools $1255.00 _ Seperate Schools $575.00

A Communication from A P. Knight Esquire was read
asking for the use of the City Hall by the Directors of the
Educational Society on the 23 & 24th of July instant

On motion of Ald: Metcalfe seconded by Ald: Carson
Ordered, That the use of the City Hall be granted
to the Managing Committee of the Teachers Association for Eastern
Ontario on the visual conditions.

A Communication from James Agnew City Solicitor was
read in Re Market Battery property

On motion of Ald: McRossie seconded by Ald: Asselstine
Ordered, That the Communication of the City Solicator
in re the "Battery property" be referred to the Committee on City
Property to report.

A Communication from Samuel H. Fee were was read asking
for an investigation before any accounts coming from Rideau Ward
be ordered to be paid &c

That Ald: Fee be Chairman of Rideau Ward for the
remaining part of the present year
