The meeting adjourned for want of a quorum

A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of
the City of Kingston held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Carson, Clements, Drennan
Dupuis, Fee, Gaskin, Gildersleeve, Harty
Metcalfe, Mooers, McCammon, McRossie, Pense
Thompson, Walkem, Wilson

The Mayor stated the Meeting was called owing to
a requisition being presented to him respecting the celebration
of Dominion Day

The Requisition was read

A Communication from George Offord, Senr, RW
Barker and W A Gunn was read asking on behalf
of the Citizens a grant of money to assist in carrying out
the Celebration of Dominion Day

Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Pense
That the sum of three hundred dollars be granted
to the Citizens Committee for the Celebration of Dominion
Day and that a member of this Council be added to said
Committee from each Ward for the purpose offering to said
money disposed of in a suitable way

In amendment
Ald. Allen moves seconded by Ald Anglin
That the sum of Two Hundred dollars be granted
to the Celebration for Dominion Day and that a member of
this council be added to said Committee from each
Ward for the purpose of seeing the said friends disposed
of in a suitable way
