A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of
the City of Kingston was held this day Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Asselstine, Carson, Drennan
Dupuis, Fee, Gaskin, Gildersleeve, Metcalfe
Mooers, McCammon, McRossie, Pense, Thompson
Walkem, Wilson, Woods
The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting
A Communication from William Martin was read
on the subject of the line of Montreal Street and requesting
the Council to stay proceedings against him
On motion of Ald. Carson seconded by Ald. Drennan
Ordered that the Communication of William
Martin be referred to the committee on streets to report
A communication from Edward Garvin was read
requesting remuneration for work done on Ordnance street
Ordered that the communication of Edward
Garvin be referred tot he Committee on Streets to report
A Circular from I. W. Langmuis Esquire, Inspector
of Prisons &c was read enclosing supplementary Gaol
Regulations
On motion of Ald. Walkem seconded by Ald. McRossie
Ordered that the Circular of I. W. Landmuis
be referred to the Committee on Finance to report
The clerk read the report of the City Auditors for
the year 1877
On Motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Allen
Ordered that the report of the Auditors be referred
to the Finance Committee to report
A Communcation from James Agnew Esquire C. J.
was read in Re new School Law. Referred to the Court
of Revision
On motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Dupuis
Ordered that His Worship the Mayor issue the
usual proclamation for the observance of Friday first Her
Majesty's Birth Day.
Ald. Carson brought up the petition of Robert Glassford
respecting Taxes
On Motion of Ald. Carson seconded by Ald. Allen
Ordered that the petition of Robert Glassford be
referred to the Court of Revision
Ald. Drennan brought up the petition of McKelvey and
Birch etal praying for a Crossing on Brock Street between King
and Wellington streets
On motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Allen
Ordered
