The committee rose and the chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The report was
received

The By Law was read a third time and passed

On motion the Council adjourned

A Meeting of the Council of the Corportation of the City
of Kingston was held this day Present

His Worhship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Asselstine, Carson, Clements
Drennan, Dupuis, Gaskin, Gildersleeve
Harty, Metcalfe, Mooers, McCammon, McRossie
Price, Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

Communications from the City Clerk Toronto, C.K.
Vesette and H. V. Williamson were read referring to the
removal of night refuse.

On motion of Ald. McCammon seconded by Ald. Harty
Ordered, that the communications of the City
Clerk Toronto and from Messrs Williamson and Vesette
be referred to the Board of Health

Ald. Fee here entered the Chambers

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire City
Solicitor was read stating the purchase money $1250 of
the land sold to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal
Church was paid on the 16th instant and calling attention
to Mr William Martin encroaching on the line of Montreal
street &c

On motion of Ald. Allen seconded by Ald. Gaskin
Ordered That the City Solicitor be authorized
to proceed legally against Mr William Martin for encroaching
on the street

Ald. Carson brought up the petition of Richard Evans
praying for time to pay his taxes

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Asselstine
Ordered that the petition of Richard Evans be
referred
