On motion of Ald Wood seconded by Ald Price
Ordered, That the Communication of George
A Kirkpatrick Esquire be referred to the Finance
Committee to report.

A Communication from JH McFarlane Agent
St Lawrence and Chicago Forwarding Company was
read calling attention to the sunken piers in the water
front of "Molson Property".

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the Communication of JH Macfarlane
agent be referred to the Committee on Wharves and
Habour to report.

A Report from Thomas Conley, City Commissioner
was read reporting certain lots of land in the City as
nuisance.

Ald Drennan moves seconded by Ald Allen
That the report of Commissioner Conley be
referred to the Committee on Streets &c to report.

In amendment
Ald Woods moves seconded by Ald Gaskin
That the lots mentioned by Commissioner Conley
be declared a nuisance and that he be requested to
carry out the City By Law on the premises - which being
put was lost and the original motion was carried.

A Communication from John McIntyre Esquire was
read calling the attention of the Council to the unsatisfactory
condition of the track of the Street Railway &c

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the Mayors communication be
referred to the Committee on Streets with power to act

A communication from Mr Patrick Devlon Chief
Engineer of the Fire Department was read complaining
of the action taken against him by the Committee on
Fire, Water and Gas and requesting the favourable consideration
of the Council - laid over until Report of Committee on
Fire Water and Gas is taken up.

Tenders for the removal of the Stone house and
wooden outhouses off the Rudd Property Earl street
were opened and read as follows: Charles
Asselstine $25 for removing holdings.
George Brown for removing stone house Fifteen dollars
and for shed Five dollars - William Snowden
offering to remove building for Twenty dollars and
Andrew Davidson for removing stone building Twenty
seven dollars and for outbuildings eleven dollars

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Asselstine
Ordered, That the tender of Andrew Davidson for
the removal of the House and outbuilding on the
continuation of Division street be accepted - work to be
performed
