and expenditure for the year 1877.

On motion of Ald Price seconded by Ald Walkem
Ordered, That the Communication of the City Treasurer
be referred to the Committee on Finance and Accounts.

On motion the Council adjourned

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kignston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Alderman:
Allen, Anglin, Asselstine, Carson, Drennan,
Dupuis, Fee, Gaskin, Gildersleeve, Harty,
Metcalfe, McCammon, McRossie, Pense, Price,
Thompson, Walkem, Wilson, Woods.

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

A Communication from Mrs Elizabeth E Dupuis
was read offering Six Hundred dollars for the strip
of land lying along the west side of Montreal street.

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire
City Solicitor was read stating the parties concerned
have not yet paid the purchase money of the land on
the corner of Brock and Montreal street bought for the
site of an Episcopal Methodist Church

A Communication from the Revd TW McVety Odessa
was read in re lot corner of Brock and Montreal streets.

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Price
Ordered, That the Communicationin reference
to property referred to on Brock street be referred to the
Committee on City Property to report.

A Circular from Messrs Hart & Rawlinson
Publishers was read respecting new municipal manual

On motion of Ald Walkem seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the Circular of Hart & Rawlinson
be referred to the Finance Committee to report.

A Communication from George A Kirkpatrick
Esquire was read making applicaiton on behalf of the
Collegiate Institute for a grant of Seventeen hundred
dollars to meet the necessary expenses of the current year
