Ald McCammon brought up the petition of
Joseph Winters stating his well corner of Victoria and
Division streets is rendered useless from water overflowing
from drain in Victoria street and praying the Council will
provide some remedy.

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the petition of Joseph Winters
be referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

Adl Gaskin brought up the petition of Charles
Counter praying for the remission of the Hall Rent on
the occasion of his late lecture &c

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Mooers
Ordered, That Charles Counter be granted a
sum equivalent to the rent of City Hall thereby virtually
being an instruction to the City Treasuer to credit Mr Counter
with the rent of the Hall.

Ald Carson brought up the petition of Thomas Carter
praying the Council will order a crossing to be made
on Princess street at Nelson street.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald Asselstine
Ordered, That the petition of Thomas Carter be
referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

Ald Pense brought up the petition of Charles Dinsmore
and two others praying payment for the stones broken
by them in 1877.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald McCammon
Ordered, That the petition of Messrs Dinsmore
Doyle and Carroll be referred to the Committee on Streets
to reprot.

Ald Metcalfe brought up the petitions of Patrick
Killeen and John Sissons praying for a remission of
a portion of their carters licenses &c.

On motion of Ald Metcalfe seconded by Ald Dupuis
Ordered, That the petition of John Sissons and
P Killeen be referred to the Committee on Licenses to
report.

Ald Metcalfe brought up the petition of Francis
Dawson and 14 others praying they will be allowed
at the rate of three dollars per time for breaking stones

On motion of Ald Metcalfe seconded by Ald Dupuis
Ordered, That the petition of F Dawson and others
be referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

On motion of Ald Dupuis seconded by Ald Metcalfe
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on
Licenses be sustained regarding the cab stand on
Clarence street as suggested in said reports.

Ald Gaskin from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 619 Book D)
which was read and adopted.
