Messrs George McMahon, Jeremiah Bastow and
Daniel Donoghue were declared elected.

Ald Carson introduced a By Law to adopt the
award made in the matter of the Arbitration had
between Thomas G Rudd and the Corporation of the City
of Kingston as to the land required in the extension of
Division street between Johnston and Earl streets and in
the exension of Agnews Lane to said extension of DIvision
street which was read a first time.

The 29th Rule of Council was suspended and the
Council went into Committee of the Whole on the second
reading.

Alderman Anglin in the Chair.

The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause - The Report
was received.

The By Law was read a third time and passed

On motion the Council adjourned.

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

Aldermen:
Allen, Anglin, Carson, Clements, Drennan,
Dupuis, Fee, Gaskin, Gildersleeve, Mooers,
McCammon, McRossie, Pense, Price, Thompson,
Walkem, Wilson, Woods

The Clerk read the Minutes of the last meeting.

A Communication from Wm Smith Esquire Deputy Minister
of Marine &c enclosing cheques Lighting Clock &c which was
read.

A communication from William P Minnes Collector of Taxes
wsa read asking for an extension of time to collect taxres of 1877.

On motion of Ald Walkem seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the Collector of Taxes be authorised to
continue the levy and collection of taxes of 1877 until the
first day of April next.

A Communication from the Manager of the Water Works
was read enclosing account for extra water &c & a communication
from
