The Clerk read the Minutes of the two last meetings.

A Communication from John McKelvey Esquire
Ex-Mayor was read In Re Communication of William
McQuaid referred to him.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Allen.
Ordered, That the Communication of Ex-Mayor
McKelvey be referred to the Finance Committee to report.

A Circular from Charles T Gillmin Esquire, Clerk
Legislative Assembly was read enclosing queries to be
answered on the subject of sanitary measures.

On motion of Ald Price seconded by Ald McCammon.
Ordered, That the Communication of the Clerk of the
Legislative Assembly be referred to the Board of Health.

A Communication from R Montgomery was read
requesting to be recouped for damages for taking down
wooden building.

On motion of Ald Carson, seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That the Communication of R Montgomery
be referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas to report.

A Communication from the John McMillan was read
respecting taxes - there was no action taken thereon.

A Communication from JL Morrison, President Street
Railway Company was read enclosing account being charges
for broken Lamp &c - There was no action taken thereon.

A Circular from the Montreal Musical Jubilee was read
asking for the names of the Teachers and Directors of the bands
of Music of the City of Kingston. There was no action taken thereon.

A Communication from Robert Roddy Esquire, City
Clerk Toronto was read on tax exemptions. There was no
action taken thereon.

A Communication from P Devlin, Chief Engineer of
the Fire Department was read asking for two Fire extenguishers
and extension ladders.

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Harty
Ordered, That the Communication of Chief Devlin be
referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas to report.

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the Assessors be furnished with an
office in the City Building for the purpose of checking and
comparing the assessment rolls daily and that said rolls
shall be deposited each evening with the city messenger and
on no account will said rolls be allowed to be taken home by
any of said assessors.

Ald McCammon brought up the petiton of JC Clark,
Stoker praying for an increase of his salary.

On motion of Ald McCammon seconded by Ald Harty
Ordered, That the petition of JC Clark "Stoker" be
referred to thr Committee on Fire, Water, Gas to report
