That this Council adjourn for one hour and report on
Committees.

In amendment
Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Pense
That the Council do adjourn until Wednesday next at
the usual hour, which being put was lost and the original motion
was carried.

On motion the Council adjourned for one hour.

The Council met pursuant to adjournment all the
members (except Ald McRossie) being present.

Ald Drennan from the Select Committee to strike standing
Committees for the year brought up a Report (Number
612 Book D) which was read and adopted.

A Communication from George A Kirkpatrick Esquire
Secretary Kingston Collegiate Institute was read noting the
retiring Trustees for the year are Dr Sullivan and Dr McCammon.

On motion of Ald Metcalfe seconded by Ald Price
Ordered, That Dr McCammon and Dr Sullivan be
re-appointed Trustees of the Collegiate Institute.

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the Assessors for 1878 be appointed
at the first regular meeting of the Council by ballot.

Ald Drennan gives notice that he will introduce a
By Law to amend the Fire By Law which was read a
first time.

Ald Allen gives notice that he will bring in a
By Law to control the expenditure of public moneys and that
the motion be considered the first reading.

On motion the Council adjourned.

of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Asselstine, Carson, Clements,
Drennan, Fee, Gaskin, Gildersleeve, Harty,
Metcalfe, Mooers, McCammon, McRossie, Pense,
Price, Thompson, Walkem, Wilson, Woods.

The May administered the Declarations of Qualification
and office to William McRossie Esquire Alderman for Sydenham
