A Meeting of the members elect of the new Council of
the Corpoation of the City of Kingston was held this day

Saint Lawrence Ward
Cornelius V Price, Thomas R. Dupuis, Samuel T Drennan

Sydenham Ward
James P. Gildersleeve, Samuel Woods

Victoria Ward
John Gaskin, Richard T Walkem, Henry Mooers

William McRossie Alderman for Sydenham Ward
was absent owing to family affliction

James A. Henderson Esquire, QC, Deputy Judge
of the County Court of the County of Frontenac was present
and administered the declarations of qualification and of
office to the Mayor elect.

Whereupon the Mayor elect John McIntyre Esquire
took the Chair and administered the Declarations of
Qualification and of office to the members presents

Applications for the office of Auditor were read
from George W. Creighton, Alfred Le Richeux and George
I. Jeffery. Ald. Clements named Joseph E. Clark for auditor.

And applications from George W. Creighton and
George McMahon for the Office of Assessors were also read

The Mayor nominated Sidney W. Scobell as Auditor

On motion of Ald. Gaskin seconded by Ald. Mooers
Ordered, That the Auditior to by appointed by
the Council be appointed by ballot.

A ballot having taken place resulted in favor of
Joseph E. Clark

On motion of Ald. Drennan, seconded by Ald. Allen
Ordered, That I.C. Clark and Sydney Scobell
the Mayor's nominee be the Auditors for the year

On motion of Ald. Gaskin seconded by Ald. Mooers
Ordered, That the following be a Committee to strike
Committees for the year. Messrs. Drennan, Gildersleeve, Harty
Anglin, Pense, Gaskin and Carson
