The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause in Committee of the
whole. The Report was received.
The By Law was read a third time and passed

On motion the Council adjourned.

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, Asselstine, Campbell, Carson, Clements,
Dupuis, Gaskin, Harty, Mooers, McDermott,
McIntyre, McRossie, Noble, Pense, Price

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

The Award In Re T.G. Rudd and the City was
read fixing award at $2,374.00

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McIntyre
Ordered, That the award of the Arbitrators in the
Rudd property be accepted.

Communications from James Agnew Esquire City
Solicitor were read in Re. Wooden Buildings Barracks
Kavanagh vs Kingston, Moyle vs Kingston and Rudd
vs Kingston

A Communication from I.R. Dargeval Clerk South
Crosby was read to have Bridge across Kingston and
Phillipsville Road &c repaired.

Ald McCammon and Gildersleeve here entered.

A Communication of R. Carswell Law Bookseller
was read. In Re: Consolidated Statutes of Ontario on Press &c

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Gildersleeve
Ordered, That the Communication of R. Carswell
be referred to Committee on Finance with power to act.

A Communication from Alexander L Kirkpatrick
Clerk of the Peace &c was read enclosing Presentment of
Grand Jury on state of Govt &c

A Circular from the County Council of Huron was
read requesting co-operation of Council in asking from the
Government appropriation for drainage and also the erection
of a House of Refuge in the Province.
