The Chairman from the Court of Revision brought
up a Report on the petition of Boat owners of the City
which was read. A Communication from James Agnew, City Solicitor
was read in reference to vessel property.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Noble
Ordered, That the report of the Court of Revision
be received and that the petition of the boat owners be
granted thus reducing the taxes on said property to
ten per cent of the same.

Ald McCammon from the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas brought up a Report (Number 605 Book D)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Licenses
brought up a Report (Number 606 Book D) which was
read and adopted.

On motion of Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Drennan
Ordered, That the same privilege be accorded
to Messrs Potts and Morris as were acceded to Taylor

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the City Solicitor furnish this Council
at its next meeting with his legal opinion showing the
boundary of the Fire By-Law in reference to Wooden
Buildings and of the Wooden building lately constructed
within the Barracks Ontario street be according to laws

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Walkem
Ordered, That the sum placed in Budget for the
reporting of the proceedings of the Council be paid to
Robert Meek and D. McFarlane and that the City Treasurer
be authorised to do so.

Ald Walkem introduced a By Law to fix the place in
each Ward in the City of Kingston where the nomination
of Candidates for the office of Aderman shall take place
which was read a first time.

Ordered, That the 29th Rule of Council be suspended
for this evening and the Council go into Committee of the
Whole on the second reading

The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the
second reading of the By Law clause by clause - the
Report was received.
The By-Law was read a third time and passed.

Ald Walkem introduced a By Law to appoint
Deputy Returning Officers and places for holding the
next ensuing elections for the City of Kingston which
was read a first time.

The 29th Rule of the Council was suspended
and the Council went into Committee of the whole
on the second reading.
