Kingston December 3rd 1899

A meeting of the council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor

Alderman
Allen, Asselstine, Campbell, Carson, Clements
Drennan, Dupuis, Gaskin, Gildersleeve, Harty,
Metcalfe, Mooers, McCammon, McDermott, McRossie
Noble, Pence, Walkem

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

Communications from James Agnew Esquire City Solicitor
were read on over expenditure and in the subject of the
City entering into contracts &c.

A Communication from M. Sullivan Esquire M.D. Ex
Mayor was read on the subject of a deputation to Ottawa
of the Kingston and Pembroke Railway.

On motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Allen
Ordered, That the communication of Ex mayor Sullivan
be referred to the Committe on City Property to report.

A Statement of Affairs of the Kingston General Hospital
ending 30 Sept 1877 was submitted.

A Communication from Alderman John Hallam Toronto
was read enclosing blank forms of petitions to the Ontario
Legislative praying for the Deletion of Assessment exemptions.

On motion of Ald Price seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the Mayor be authorised to employ
competent parties to circulate the petitions referring to
exemption from taxation among the Citizens for signature.

A Proposal from T.W. NAsh submitting Plans
Numbering Houses was laid before the Council.

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the plans prepared by Mr Nash
for numbering the City be referred to the Committee on
Streets to report.

The Clerk stated he had sent to him applications for
the office of City Engineers.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the Mayor of authorised to advertise
for applicants to fill the office of City Engineer - applications
to be received until the next meeting of the Council.

The Mayor submitted a copy of a List of Lands
liable to be sold for arrears of taxes.

On motion of Ald Walkem seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the assessors statement of taxes
due on the lands of non-resident land owners be referred to
the Court of Revision for revision.

Ald McCammon brought up the petition of Henry
Moulden praying for an increase of his salary
