the City Solicitor and report at the next meeting of this Council.

A Communication from Messrs Kirkpatrick and Rogers
was read informing the Council that the late John Walkins by his
Will bequeathed to the Corporation of the City of Kingston the sum of
$900 to be invested and the Annual interest or income arising thereforein
to be applied for the use and benefit of the inmates of the House
of Industry in this City.

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Carson
Ordered, that the Communication of Messrs Kirkpatrick and
Rogers be referred to the Finance Committee to report.

Ald: Metcalfe brought up the petition of William Davis
and 16 others praying the Council to use its influence with the
Police Commissioners to have Cab stand changed.

On motion of Ald: Metcalfe seconded by Ald: Pense
On motion of Ald: Ordered, That the petition of Miles Sennott
and others Licensed Cabmen be referred to the Committee on
Licenses to report at next meeting of this Council.

On motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Clements
Ordered, That the question of back taxes for 1874 of the
Ontario Locomotive Works be referred to the Committee on Finance
to report.

On motion the Council adjourned.
