Valentine Fernandez of Mahren - exercised his art in Lisbon
from 1495 to 1518, beginning with this book. iN addition to
printing he translated works from Spanish + Italian into
Portuguese + was the author of the celebrated manuscript
about the Portuguese discoveries which is kept in the Munich
library. He was, moreover, Master of the Horse to Queen
Leonor + was made broke in order to act as such in
transactions in spice between Portuguese + German merchants.
