the Ohio University.
Athens Ohio Dec.9.1903 - 1.P.M
The Board of Trustees of the Ohio University met this
day and at the hour above named at its Office in Ewing
Hall. President Alston Ellis in the Chair- A call of the
roll s howed the following members of the Board present
to wit: Alston. Ellis President, L.M. Jewett Secretary -
V.C Lowrey - C. C. Davidson - J.E Benson - E.J. Jones-
J.M. Welch- F.C Whiley. H.W. Coultrap. Thomas Blackstone.
I. M. Foster T.R. Biddle and Henry. O' Bleness -
Mr Jewett state the
object of the meeting was for the consideration of
the bids heretofore filed with this Board for the erection
and construction of the new Library Building ~
Mr Foster moved that we
take up the subject of awarding the contract for the
erection and construction of the New Library Building
of the Ohio University upon the bids heretofore filed with
[inserted] As to
Contract
of 20.000$
Library
Building [end inserted] this [inserted] Board [end inserted] which motion was duly seconded , and the yeas
and nays being demanded a call of the roll resulted
in the following vote to wit: Yeas, Ellis. Lowrey. Jewett.
Davidson. Benson. Jones. Welch. Whiley. Coultrap.
Blackstone. Foster. Biddle and O' Bleness, Yeas-13-
nays none, and thereupon the Chair declared that
said motion hand been unanimously adopted
by the Board
And thereupon the Board carefully examined
[?canassed?] and considered the bids of said Charles. Kircher -
Caldwell Drake + Co D. W. Henke. G. L. Saunders and
C. J . Warner (being all of the bids made and filed with
this Board for the erection and construction of said new
library building) [inserted] which [end inserted] were read by the Secretary ~
Mr. Welch moved that we
accept the bid of Mr Charles. Kircher as the lowest
[inserted] upon the said Kircher giving bond for the performance of [crossed out] said [end crossed out] [inserted] his [end inserted] contract as required by law [end inserted]
and best bid made for said new library building, which
motion was duly seconded,and the yeas and nays
