My reply to your last letter has been somewhat delayed and I trust you will understand the reason when I tell you I have been ill and unable to do anything. However I am much better now.

I am mailing to you under seperate cover the papers you have in mind. They are badly torn but they are all I have in my

posession and if they will do you any good I am glad to let you take them. Also I am sending you my poem which I wrote soon after our marriage. I would like to have you read it. When you have finished with it, I will ask you to return it to me please.

About the skin boat which you have asked me. I have just read Fred's letter written to me enroute from Nome to Wrangell Island. He told me then

that they had purchased a skin boat at East Cape, and the next morning when they awakened they found the wind had taken it over-board, but he said they were not worried because they were going to buy one from the Captain of the boat which they were on. Why they had no skin boat perhaps none of us will ever know. But I feel confident they had one in the beginning for Fred gave me an account of everything they did from the time he left me until they reached the Island.

We were married on Thursday August 11th, 1921, in Missoula Mont. You remember at Mrs. Clapp's home. It was a beautiful beginning with a tragic ending, it seems to me I am just now beginning to realize what has happened.
