I took a walk up the West bank of the river
for a couple of miles. Saw a band of at least
30 geese which flew North out of my sight.
Saw a great many catapillars and snow
buntings and one fresh fox track. No signs of
lemming. Cloudy and misty. Fresh breeze from South
ing in the morning which shifted to the East later
in the day. The seals seen yesterday did to reappear.

Took another walk up the river. Saw no life ex-
cepting a few catapillars. Foggy. Strong breeze East.
I have not said any thing much for a long time
about the seamstress but will take the time now to
say that she is doing as well as any one could
wish. Altho we did not bring her along for cook &
dishwasher she insists upon doing that work
and also sews when necessary. She is home
sick and says that she wants to get back to
"Home & mother" Nome, and as long as she is
as unfull as she is now I am sure we
will all miss her is when she goes next
summer (???) (Provided the ship comes).
