 | Page 1[note] [3-29-75] [/note] PROCLAMATION $50.00 Reward Whereas, It appears by information received by me, that Jas Smith, a convict affected his escape March 29th 1875 well it under lease to French and Jobes and is still at large; Now, Therefore, I, ADELBERT AMES, Governor of Mississippi, do offer the above reward for the arrest and delivery of the said Jas. Smith to the Supt. of the Penitentiary And I do moreover require all officers of the State to be diligent in their efforts to arrest said fugitive [gap]. [seal] THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI [/seal] GIVEN UNDER MY HAND and the Great Seal of the States affixed, at Jackson, this [gap] day of [gap] A.D. 187 [gap].
