Personally appeared before me Thos D Sallis Clerk of the Probate Court of Said ^county^ James. B. Ellington who being duly Sworn deposed and Said that Some time in the Spring of the year 1863—a man by the name of William Woods (a Citizen of this County) impressed a mare for the use and benefit of the State of Mississippi Estimated & Valued at Two hundred & Seventy five dollars ($275 00100) for which he give affiant a Certificate & that he place said certificate in the hands of J W Scarborough to send up for Collection.

Also appeared J W Scarborough who being duly Sworn deposed & Said that said Certificate has been lost or mislaid so that he cannot find it &c

Sworn to & Subscribed before me this 28th June AD 1864.
