he seyde for hire synnes had cristyn men lost al þe londis
þ[a]t we holde for ȝowre synnes haþ god ȝeue this londis
to vs & noȝt þorȝ owre strengþe but al þorwȝ ȝoure
synnes for we wot wel forsoþe whan ȝe serue wel ȝoure
god þ[a]t he wil help ȝow so noma[n] schal do aȝen ȝow &
we wot wel be oure p[ro]phecyis þ[a]t cristyn men schal wyn
aȝen þis lond whan þay serue wel hare god but whylis
þay lyfe so fowle we haue no drede of ham & þan I asked
hym how he knew so þe state of cristyn men & he seyde he
knew boþe of lordis and com[m]uns be his messageris þ[a]t he
sente þorw al contreys as þay were marchaundis w[i]t[h] p[re]cio[us]
stonys & oþ[er] marchaundise to know þe man[er] of eche contre
& þan he made cal al þe lordis into þe chambre & þan he
schewid me iiij of þe grettist lordis of þ[a]t contre & deuysid
me my contre & þay spak frensch ryht wel & þe sowdan
also & þan I hadde gret m[er]uayle of þis sclandre of owre
feyth & so þay that scholde be turned be oure feyth and good
ensampil to þe feyth of ih[es]u crist þay beth drawen away
þorw oure lyþ[er] leuyng & þ[er]fore hit is no wondir þauȝ
þay cal us leþ[er] for þay sayþ [...]þ but þe sarzenys beth
trew for þay kepe þe co[m]mandement[is] of hare alkrou[n]
ryht wel þ[a]t god sente ham be his messager macomet
to whom þay say seint gabriel þe au[n]gel spak oft & seyde
hym þe wil of god & ȝe schal vndirstonde þ[a]t macomet
was borne in araby & he was first a pore knafe & kepid
hors & ȝede aft[er] marchau[n]dis & so he com onys into egipt
with a marchau[n]t & egipt was þ[a]t tyme cristyn & þer
was a chapel besyde araby & þ[er] was on eremyte & whan
he com in to þ[a]t chapel it was but alytyl hows & low as
sone þe entre bagan to be as gret as it were a palys
ȝate & þat was þe fyrste m[er]uayle þ[a]t makomet did as
Sarzenys seyth & aft[er] began macomet to be ryȝt wyse
