Monday, November 6, 1922

A good day. Jim & Nellie stripped tobacco. Nellie churned and washed the dishes for me. I got the dinner. Ben & Henry started to Gretna before day this morning. They got home a little before night. Ben was very well pleased with the sale of his tobacco. He solde a little for Kate. Mr Lewis brought Josie some good apples this evening. Mrs Booker sent her some light bread & cake and some beautiful flowers. Fanny brought them last night. Edna & Franklin went to school.

Tuesday, November 7, 1922

A cloudy day and a little rain. Ben went to the Election and served as judge. Jim & Nellie stripped tobacco. John Hutchersons bull got in and got to the haystacks. Did not do any damage. Our cows got in Norman Bookers field. Jim got them out and fixed the fence. I got dinner. This evening I hulled walnuts. Mabel stayed with me at the shop. I did not go to vote. I had no way to go. Several ladies did vote.

A good day some cooler than yesterdy. Ben disked some land to sowingness. Jim & Nellie stripped tobacco. It was not in good order. Mollie come down here a while this morning. She would not stay for dinner. I went to Renan this evening. Nat Wooding carried me most of the way over there. I walked home.

Josie has suffered a lot today. I got dinner. Nel churned. The children went to school. I started Carrie a letter today. Nellie got a letter from Evylin to day. I was glad. She wanted to hear so bad.

Thursday, November 9, 1922

A good day. Ben sowed some grass seed. Jim & Nellie stripped tobacco. Nellie helped me this morning. I milked two cows and one was not up. I hunted for her but did not find her. Jim found her in Mr Bookers field. Josie has suffered a lot today. Mr Irvin Lewis sent Josie a nice box of grapes by mail today. Mr Dews come tonight and paid Mrs Car some mony. Fannie Power and I ironed some this evening. I am so glad that it is done. I s[t]arched some clothes this evening.

Friday, November 10, 1922

A clear cool day. Ben hunted a little wood this evening. Ella & Loucas Hubbard come her this evening. Mr Kent come tonight. She brought Josie some [oiters?]. I am glad that she did. They will be something that she has not had Jim & Nellie worked on their tobacco all day. I ironed some & Fanny ironed some so we got all the things done. The children went to school. Henry went to the ball game. I got a letter from Carrie. I was glad. Jim got a letter from John. I was glad to hear from him.
