I hope you received the testament with
the ten dollers in it for you. Eliza Smith
called today she came up to spend the Sabath
& the fourth she sent her love to you.
She thinks of going West soon She says
they had a dredful hail storm there the
4th of June cut every thing all to picis[pieces] so
they ahd to plant over. We had some hail
with the last thunder shower.

Belle wished
to have me write you if you could
manage to come to meet in the midnight
train in Hartford. She would like it
but I told her I did much think you
could. The Boat is sometimes untill
almost noon getting up & I did not
know but you had rather keep right
on in the cars you would have to
take a Carriage in New York to
the cars I suppose you can speak for
one before you get out of the cars by
giving up your checks or you can get
one after you arrive there are a plenty
of them ready they ought not to charge you
