Springfield April 12, 1859. Sunday evening

My Dearest Friend I resived[received] your kind and affectionate letter last Tuesday afternoon was glad to hear from you. I did not get your first letter the letter man takeing it to the shop and Henry put it into his pocket and it droped it in the street I felt bad about it and he felt sorry that looss[lose] it. Mrs. Burns, resived[received] your letter last Saturday week and I had the pleasure of reading it Sunday. I was down to Mrs Burns last Thursday, she sayes that she is getting along veary well, she has a giral[girl] liveing with her she sayes the not goining[going] to keep any longer then this week. Mrs. Williams got her for Mrs. B. Mrs. Williams has moved in the house with [Anders Reobens?] in Union Street. Dorsia is veary well her eye is a much better Mrs. Freeman just about the same she

Annie has gone to Baltimore she went last Friday week we received last tuesday Aunt Harret did not expect her until monday. She went away in a hurry. Thursday eveing Sophia seen Mr. Gray at lecture he said he was going away in the moing so we packed Annie trunk that Night she went next moring secen o clock train.
