Richard Randolph, Bowler Cocke John Bolling James Powell Cocke James Cocke John Redford John Povall Edward Curd John Williamson and William Fuller Gent Vestrymen the reverand Mr William Stith produces a Letter from the Hon' William Gooch Esq his Majestys Lieu't Governor of this Colony and another from the rever'd mr James Blair Commisary Directed to the Church Wardens and Gen't of the Vestry recommending the Said Mr. Stith the Cure of this parish, which are read and ye Said Mr Stith hath this Day performed his ministerial function both in preaching and reading to the general Satisfaction and approbation of the Vestry Thereupon they do unanimously agree to receive him as Minister of this parish Signed by Jas Powell Cooke } Church Wardens James Cocke }

appears to be Due for the performance of all which the Said Fuller enters into Bond. John Radford and John Povall Securities

On the Motion of Thomas James his Son Robert is exempted from paying levey.

It is ordered that Richard Randolph Gent do pay James Cocke church Warden Two pounds one Shilling and ninepence out of the parish Money in his hands for [Somucle?] by the Said Cocke paid James Hunt for mending ye Chappel Windows.

The Vestry do agree to build a Church on the most Convenient place at or near Thomas Williamsons in this parish to be Sixty foot in Length and Twent five in Breadth and fourteen foot pitch to be finished in a plain Manner after the Moddle [Model] of Curls Church and it is ordered that the Clerk do Set up Advertisements of the particular parts of the Said building and of the time and place of undertaking the same

At a Vestry held at Curls Church for Henrico parish July ye 21st Ano Dom 1739 42 present The Rever'd William Stith, James Powel Cocke James Cocke Bowler Cock, John Radford, Edward Curd, Robert Mosbey, John Povall, William Fuller, and John Williamson, Gent' Vestrey men.

In obedience to an Order of Henrico Court and pursuant to an Act of Assembly of this Colony the vestry do proceed to divide the parish into Several precincts and appoint persons to go in procession and renew the Bounds of Lands according to Law.

First precinct. Pursuant to an Act of Assembly of this Colony and obedience to an Order of Henrico Court, it is Ordered that John North, Thomas Henton and Thomas Ellis with the Assistance of the Neighboring freeholders do Sometime before the last day of March next go in procession and renew the Bounds of all Lands from the Mouth of West Ham to William Gordons thence upwards all between Gordons Road and James River to the head of the parish. And that the Said John North, Thomas Henton and Thomas Ellis ( or any two of them) do take and return to this parish Vestry an Account of every persons Land by them processioned together with the Names of those present and Also what Lands they shall fail to procession and the particular Reason of Such failure.

Second precinct. From William Gordons Road to the head of the parish, thence to the Main Swamp, thence down to Turners Run Thence up Longny Branch to the head of Upland Brook, from thence to Gordon's aforesaid. John Shephard, John Royal and Robert Webb are appointed prosessioners

Third precinct all between Chickahomony Swamp and Upland Brook to the head of the Said brook Nathaniel Bacon John Watkins and Peter Patrick are appointed processioneers Fourth precinct All between Chickahomany Swamp and the Brook Road as low as Mary Cannons and Smiths Mill. the Clerk Informs the Vestry that the Several persons who were appointed processioners for the year 1739 have made return of their proceeding which by him is Regesterd in the parish Book whereupon the church Wardens do proceed to Examine and Attest the Same.

the Vestry to Sell the Twenty five Thousand pounds of Tobacco Levy'd in October last for the use of the parish unto Col. Richard Randolph who agrees to give for the Same after the Rate of Ten Shillings per Hundred Current Money= It is thereupon Ordered that the Collector do pay him the Said Tobacco as Soon as he can Conveniently Collect the Same. 54
