335 April 11th 1898 Revised Constitution and Cannons of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Virginia. - Section. 8. Cannon viii.
Every person chosen a Vestryman shall before he acts as such subscribe to the following declaration and promise: - "I do believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the word of God, and to contain all the things necesary to salvation, and I do yield my hearty assent and approbation to the doctrines, worship and discipline of the Protestant Episcopal Church in these United States; and I promise that I will faithfully execute the office of Vestryman of St. John's P.E. Church, Richmond Va., Henrico Co, [County] according to my best knowledge and skill"

Resolved, that a committee composed of the wardens and Capt John A. Curtis be appointed to interview the committee is the City Council on St: John's Cemetery, for the purpose of ob taining the privilege of enlarging the Frame School-house in the cemetery. On motion the meeting adjourned. Geo. K. Taylor, Register.
At a meeting of the Vestry of St: John's Church, held in the "Brick Chapel" on Tuesday, the 24. of September, 1889 Present Rev: L.W. Burton, Rector presiding and Mes[illegible] James W. Shields, Richard L. Brown, G.G. Muior, Joseph R. Roane, Thomas S. Macon Dr. L. C. Crump and George K. Taylor. The meeting was opened with prayer; the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. On motion, Resolved, that the treasurer be directed to pay to Mr. Johnson, the contractor with the city, for repairs to wall to the cemetery on 24 street, the sum of ten dollars for extending the wall at the south end of the Frame

May 14th 1893 At a called meeting of the Vestry held May 14th in the vestry room of the Church of Service of following members were present; Rer. L. W. Burton Capt. Cyrus Bossieux Mr. Jno. A. Curtis Capt. Jno. F. Mayer Sergt. B.F. Howard Mr. Jos. R. Roane Mr. G.G. Minor Mr. Jas. T. Estes The Rector explained that this meeting was called for the purpose of appointing alternates for the Delegates already appointed to attend the Council at Winchester this being necessary as there was some doubt as to Mr. E.A. Saunders one of the Delegates being able to attend on account of his health. On motion Dr. L. C. Crump & Mr. G.G. Minor were appointed alternates, On motion the meeting adjourned, Jas. T.
