LIGHT-HOUSE ESTABLISHMENT.
Office of Inspector, 13TH District,
Portland, Oreg. 2 September, 1903

SUBJECT: NO. 1053.

The Light-House Board,
Washington.

Sirs:-

With reference to the Board's letter 15 August, 1903, I would respectfully state that I have recently inspected the Yaquina Head Light Station and that the conditions there do not seem to require the transfer of any of the keepers now on duty at that station.
The defective cottage is occupied by the First Assistant, who is a single man, accustomed to his lodging, and unwilling to ask for a transfer.
A new dwelling is, however, urgently needed.
Very respectfully,
???
Commander, U.S.N.,
Light-House Inspector.
