March 2: Moderate to light breeze S.E. wind calm, heavy rain to cloudy & dry??? Sea moderate, Bar. 29.68-29.78. 1st asst. working in the shop.

March 3: Light variable winds, fair to rain squalls. Sea smooth, Bar. 29.76-29.80. Keeper went mile from sta. 1st asst. working in shop and garden. 2nd asst went to Newport.

March 4: Calm to light breeze W. Fair. Sea smooth. Bar. 29.80 1st asst. washing. Keeper went 1 mile from Station for supplies.

March 5: Light westerly wind clear dry sea smooth. Bar 29.90 1st asst. working in garden 2nd asst ashing. Keeper working on daily expenditure & return of expenditures.

March 6: Calm to light wind W. clear & dry. Sea smooth. Bar 30.32. Lantern window frames cleaned today. Keeper went one mile from station for supplies.

March 7: Calm to fresh NW breeze clear and dry. Smooth sea. Bar 30.33 1st asst went to Newport for supplies 2nd asst working in his quarters. Keeper cutting (???) from the walk.

26 Calm till 8:00 PM then north west squalls showers. Bar 30.33. General duties for the day. Keeper showing two visitors in the tower. 2nd asst was on leave of ??? Arrived back at 3:00 PM.

27 North west squalls from 12 AM to 9:00 AM then steady NW breee. Bar 30.40. Keeper and two assts painting.

1st Leight to a gale from south west with rain squalls. Barr 29.40. Keeper and assts painting inside tower lantern. 2 visitors were shown in tower.

2 Gale from south west with rain squalls. Sea mod. Bar 29.10. 29.85. Keeper and assts cleaning floors of lantern and watch room and whitewashing inside tower. Steam schooner Minnie Kelton anchored off Cape Foulweather in distress at 4:00 P.M.

3 Light south west wind cloudy dry. Sea smooth. Bar 29.97. Keeper and asst white washing inside tower. Cleaning tower stairs. 1st asst went to Newport for mail. Eleven of the crew of the Kelton were lost overboard with the deck load. ??? reached shore alive.

4 Light south west to westerly wind dry. Sea smooth. Bar 30.02. Keeper and assts cleaning tower stairs and painting floor of lantern and watch room. Steam schooner Minnie Kelton was taken in tow by steam schooner Washington at 1:30 P.M. for Columbia River.

5 Light west to north west wind clear dry. Sea smooth. Bar. 30.03. 1st and second assts painting outside of tower lantern. Keeper went to Newport for mail.

6 Light to a gale from south to south west rain. Sea rough. Bar. 29.72. Keeper and 1st & 2nd assts painting tower stairs and painting brackets top of tower outside.

7th Southerly to south west rain squalls to north west squalls to clear. Bar. 30.10. Keeper and 1st asst cleaning paint work in tower office. 2nd asst went to Newport for mail.

8th Light north west occational squalls with rain. Sea smooth. Bar. 29.98. Keeper and two asst keeper painting tower stairs and painting office floor.

9th Light north west wind clear warm and dry. Sea smooth. Bar. 30.33. Keeper, 1st & 2nd asst painting bracketts and under side tower balcony of tower. 1st asst went to Newport for mail.
