Box 18 has (3) 4/20/45 which doesn't fit the format, entered the 3 into months but not sure that's correct. The date would also before he was commissioned.

It's indeed Aviator Cadet :) If you look up AvCad V-5, it will show you either that or NavCad, which is just specifically Naval Aviation Cadet.
