SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 1865
Raining nearly all day. Didn't go
to Church. Attended Mr Tom Ridout's
funeral - very wet. Afterwards drove
up to Mrs Willy Bailey's with the gov - paid
a long visit. Went into evening
service. Walked home with
Jn. A City hotel burnt last night.

MONDAY, 23
Frosty day. Had the little mare shod
(hind feet). Letter from Alick.
The Governor left for Toronto 3.30 pm. GWR
Before dinner [crossed out] drove about
with [crossed out] Benny Cronyn. Saw
Jim and Miss Dewar. Gave him [crossed out]
the stamps I had [crossed out] collected.

TUESDAY, 24
At 3.30 a.m. fire commenced in town and
burnt down Buckleys, Beatties and
Manning's. Cold day. Little mare fore feet
shod. x
