To the Hon the Senate and Assembly of the State of Wisconsin
The undersigned Mayor, Common Council and Citizens of the City of Beaver Dam Do Respectfully protest against the passage of Senate Bill No 232 S Repealing certain laws and regulations respecting the amendments to the Charter of said City and referred to in said Bill as certain sections of Chapter 96 of of the Private and Local Laws of 1859 and Chapter 74 of the Laws of 1861. That in the opinion of your Petitioners it is wrong to do so. That the City now pays the full amount of tax due the county in money and returns to the county no delinquent [illegible] we collect our own taxes - that the county incurs no expense and assumes no liability for the city. That the City can more readily collect the taxes due by having the sum under their control then they could of the delinquent under were returned to the county Treasurer. That the only person that can be interested in having the law changed is [illegible] county officers - that under the present arrangement the county does not suffer and if of great benefit and advantage to the
