To the Senate and Assembly of the State of Wisconsin

The undersigned believing that at the time of the submitting of the Constitution for adoption by the People of the State the fourth clause of the first Section of the Third Article of said Constitution was not understood by said People and it has since been constituted by those in a [majority?]. Therefore we do ask that measures be taken to alter said Clause by adding to the words "On Such Subject"
and we ask also that the Insertion of Equal Suffrage to Colored Persons be submitted at the same time under the amended Constitution.
