To the Hon. Senate & Assembly of the State of Wisconsin in Legislature assembled -

The undersigned citizens & legal voters of the town of Union in Rock County would respectfully present unto your Hon. Body - That in our judgment the several towns, cities & villages ought to be authorized to raise by tax a larger sum than two hundred dollars for each volunteer to fill their quota. We therefore respectfully ask you hon. body to pass an act at once, authorizing the towns, cities & villages to raise by tax such sum as they shall choose for local bounty to fill their respective quotas not exceeding three hundred dollars to each volunteer.
