To the Honorable the Senate and the Assembly of Wisconsin
The undersigned, school officers, teachers and citizens of the Town of Viroqua; Vernon Co. Wisconsin, respectfully represent: That they believe the interests of Public Education would be greatly promoted by the adoption of what is commonly called the "Town District System of Schools" in place of the present system of single and independent school-districts; that the advantages of schools would thereby be made more equal, and that it would likewise be a measure of economy for the State.
They therefore respectfully ask your Honorable Body to give this subject your attention, and to this end they would commend to your attention that portion of the Report of the State Superintendent which sets forth and explains the object sought in this petition; and they further respectfully ask that you will, during your present session grant such enactments as will secure the benefits of the change proposed.
